Course Outlines for Executive Master of Business Administration
The following courses are course contents of CEO training to upgrade their skills in business management.
1. MANAGERIAL ECONOMICS
The objectives of this subject are to provide managers with practical knowledge in micro and macroeconomics, and its impacts in running a business.
It deals with fundamental economic principles such as demand and supply theory; production and returns; cost of production; market equilibrium; various types of markets; investment strategies; unemployment problems; national product; currency and banking systems.
2. STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT
The subject deals with oriental and western methods of business management. The problem of facing globalization.
Management strategies commonly used in the business world. External and internal factors facing the business and various arts of war such as Sun Zi may be applied in business handling.
3. BUSINESS RESEARCH AND STATISTICAL METHODS
The objectives of this subject are to help students in handling business data and make business decision based on statistical analyses.
The contents are dealing with table and graph presentations; measurement of central tendency and variability; sampling techniques; testing of hypotheses; regression and correlation analyses; non-paramet ric methods; time series and index number; and reporting writing.
4. PRODUCTION AND OPERATION MANAGEMENT
This subject provides candidates to understand and apply the concepts/methods to total quality management (TQM) in order to improve effectiveness and efficiency in production in a business.
It deals with the definition of quality; concept of total quality control; factors affecting t he quality link; the ISO quality system requirements, certification and accreditation bodies and their relations; quality control circle, the structure and their operations.
5. ENTREPRENEURSHIP
This subject will let students to understand how an entrepreneur establishes his business and the way to overcome difficulties, if any, during the journey of the development.
The subject deals with an entrepreneur how to develop the business and his contribution to the society. Some successful entrepreneurs will be introduced. Establishment, expansion, development and problems facing globalization of the business will be discussed.
6. CORPORATE FINANCE
This subject provides candidates the basic knowledge of accounting, budgeting, costing, and techniques for financial decision making.
It deals with topics on short and long-term financial planning and corporate growth; project analysis and evaluation; the net present value (NPV) estimates; the nature of capital market risks and returns; mergers, acquisitions, initial public offering (IPO) and international corporate finance.
7. ORGANIZATION BEHAVIOR AND CULTURE
This subject provides the candidates with the organizational structure and design and let them put the concept into effective on-the-job skill.
The subject deals with individual and group behavior in an organization. Values and attitudes of employees; job satisfaction and motivation concepts; leadership quality; power and politics; skills of solving conflict, negotiation strategies; and inter-group behavior; human resource policies and practices and future organizational development will be dealt with.
8. HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
The objectives of this subject are to help students in human resource management related to government and business organizations.
The contents are dealing with strategic planning; problem solving and decision making; organizing for stability and change; staffing and human resource management; employer and employee relationships; motivation, performance and leadership quality; career and individual development in an organization.
9. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS
This subject provides the candidates with knowledge in trading their products at the international market. Effects of globalization and trading block establishment among countries are discussed.
The subject will let students realize that there are business opportunities at the international level. Import and export procedures; credit systems and international laws on trading; and international business at the dynamic environment in the world will be dealt with. Formation of treading union such as WTO, AFTA, APEC, EU and establishment of IMF, ADB and WB will be discussed.
The aims of this subject are to develop students understanding the concepts of marketing in domestic and international settings.
It deals with micro and macro marketing environment; methods of analyzing marketing processes; marketing strategies; communication systems; advertising methods and their efficiency, pricing policy; marketing planning; E-commerce; WTO and some other trading blocks such as AFTA.
